Hein J.J. Wellens, M.D. Joins Scientific Advisory Board
BOCA RATON, FLORIDA — November 9, 2004 — Vicor Technologies, Inc. ("Vicor" or "the Company") today announced that Hein J. J. Wellens, M.D. has joined Vicor's Scientific Advisory Board.
Hein J. J. Wellens, M.D. is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at Academisch Ziekenhuis Maastricht in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is a Director of the Interuniversity Cardiology Institute of the Netherlands and is a member of the Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. He also has an appointment of visiting lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Between Dr. Wellens and Mark Josephson, M.D., another member of Vicor's Scientific Advisory Board, there have been more than 1,000 articles and nearly two dozen books published covering all aspects of arrhythmology and electrophysiology. The vast experience of both Drs. Wellens and Josephson includes all areas of diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the entire spectrum of clinically occurring arrhythmias. They are internationally recognized leaders in the field.
