Mark E. Josephson, M.D. Joins Scientific Advisory Board

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA — January 19, 2004 — VICOR TECHNOLOGIES, INC. ("Vicor" or "the Company") today announced Mark E. Josephson, M.D. has joined Vicor's Scientific Advisory Board.

Mark Josephson, M.D. is a graduate of Trinity College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Class of 1969. He completed his Residency Training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and Fellowship Training in Cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Josephson is currently the chief of the division of cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a major patient care, research and teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. His research in the areas of electrophysiology is reported in more than 300 original publications and 200 chapters/reviews and editorials. Dr. Josephson is credited with developing the field of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology from an intellectual curiosity to a powerful diagnostic and therapeutic tool for the management of arrhythmias. Dr. Josephson single-authored textbook, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, is the fundamental textbook in the field.
