Overview

Vicor Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: VCRT) creates innovative, non-invasive diagnostics based on its patented PD2i® nonlinear algorithm, a new vital sign which accurately determines the likelihood of pathological events in specific populations. Vicor is currently in the process of commercializing its first three products:

  • The PD2i-VS™ (Vital Sign), which quickly evaluates critically-injured soldiers and civilians to improve triage and survivability. The PD2i-VS™ is in ongoing trials in collaboration with the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR).
  • The PD2i CA™ (Cardiac Analyzer), which identifies those at risk of sudden cardiac death within the following six months.
  • The PD2i Analyzer™, which measures heartrate variability in patients at rest and in response to controlled exercise and paced respiration.

The FDA has granted 510(k) marketing clearance for the PD2i Analyzer™. Existing CPT codes provide physicians with current reimbursement and thus Vicor a current source of revenue. Vicor expects additional clearances for the PD2i CA™ (for sudden cardiac death), PD2i-VS™ (for trauma triage), in 2010.

Vicor anticipates additional applications for other disorders and diseases for the PD2i® nonlinear algorithm and software.

Vicor Therapeutics discovers, develops and commercializes new drugs based on unique compounds Vicor scientists have isolated from hibernating animals. In animal trials, these compounds show great promise to be able to mitigate stroke, infarction, kidney failure, obesity and other medical challenges.

Since 2003, to conserve cash and focus on the commercialization of the PD2i Analyzer™, we have suspended research on our Therapeutics platform. The Therapeutics platform remains in the pre-clinical testing phase while we await patent issuances and sufficient funding to allow us to continue.

Highlights

  • Vicor received FDA 510(k) marketing clearance for its PD2i Analyzer™ on December 29, 2008.
  • Products based on Vicor’s PD2i® nonlinear algorithm are non-invasive, easy-to-use, highly accurate, forgiving of data issues derailing other methods, and provide real-time results.
  • Vicor’s products enable substantial cost-savings to public and private insurers.
  • Products based on Vicor’s PD2i® nonlinear algorithm address the diagnostic needs of significant medical-care populations worldwide.
  • Vicor’s PD2i CA™ addresses the medical diagnostic needs of 12 million U.S. cardiac patients; a population that is growing at a rate of five percent annually
  • Vicor’s PD2i Analyzer™ addresses the medical diagnostic needs of diabetics; 18 million in the U.S. alone.
  • Vicor’s PD2i-VS™ significantly improves trauma triage by accurately risk-stratifying injury severity and probability of survival of critically injured soldiers and civilians.
  • Vicor anticipates FDA 510(k) marketing clearance for its PD2i-VS™ and PD2i CA™ during the first half of 2010.
  • Vicor is engaged in a series of collaborative efforts with the University of Mississippi Medical Center to identify new applications for its PD2i® nonlinear algorithm.
  • Vicor has a highly credentialed and experienced management team, augmented by a world-class Scientific Advisory Board composed of prominent life sciences physicians, scientists, and business professionals.
  • Vicor shareholders include 350 U.S. physicians, with an additional 450 on Vicor’s national cardiac panel, most of whom are cardiologists.
